Jim DawsonJim Dawson is an award-winning marketer, Jim has developed marketing and promotional programs for General Motors, Anheuser Busch, Verizon, American Express Travel, the World Trade Center Boston, the Harvard Medical School, Shell-Texaco, Hyundai, Boston University and others. On the corporate side, he has held marketing and advertising leadership roles with Liberty Mutual, DuPont and a division of Colgate Palmolive. Organizations including the New England Direct Marketing Association, the Medical Marketing Association, International Association of Business Communicators, and the Health Care Exhibitors Association have recognized programs he developed with various awards. Publications such as Marketing News, Exhibitor Magazine, Sales and Marketing Magazine and Crain’s New York Business Daily have featured articles pertaining to campaigns he created. The Trade Show Exhibitors Association recognized a program he created with the Most Remembered Exhibit of the Year Award, and the Public Relations Society of America and Retail Merchants Association awarded him a Best Promotion of the Year Award. A journalism graduate of Northeastern University, Jim interned at the Boston Globe for three years. He later earned a Certified Business Communicator (CBC) designation from the Business Marketing Association, a masters-level certification achieved by less than 5% of professionals nationwide. An active leader with professional organizations, Jim is president of the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), a member of the Dallas Advertising League, the DFW Interactive Marketing Association, and the Southlake Executive Forum. He is a past-president of the Boston AMA, the Business Marketing Association, and the Trade Show Exhibitors Association. He is a frequent judge for national marketing awards programs including the AMA Crystal Awards in Houston, the Boy Scouts of America Excellence in Marketing Awards, and the Sizzle Awards that recognize superb promotion and event marketing campaigns sponsored by Exhibitor Magazine. He has also volunteered on marketing advisory boards for various non-profit groups including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dimock Community Health Center and CMARC, a special-needs organization. |
